STRESSFUL DRIVE

The official digital release is the 10th October 2018 and can be purchased from
CD Baby, Amazon, iTunes and all leading download and streaming services.

Bandtraxs and 'Stressful Drive' are delighted to release this new original work composed and produced by Carl Dixon, which has elements of Soul, Philly, Disco House, Chill House and Modern flavours throughout. 'Stressful Drive' is an instrumental dance track influenced by a live gig in London featuring UK soul group 'Soulutions', who write and perform their own material exquisitely. Carl realised that he too could come up with something a little more modern than many of his other retro sounding ideas. This was fun creating and hopefully there will be more similar efforts like this in the future.

AND.......in the past Hull born Carl Dixon has co wrote and produced with celebrated Funk Brother guitarist, song writer and performer Dennis Coffey songs featuring Spyder Turner and Cherokee Pree in the ‘Motor City’ along with some other notable ‘Funk Brothers’ and session musicians back in 2008. 'Tell me (crying over you)' and 'Glory Fleeting' featuring Spyder Turner on lead vocals, 'Suddenly there's you' featuring Pree on lead and 'Detroit (city by the river)' by Bandtraxs were all released successfully from that session and are available to purchase or stream. Later that same year Carl teamed up with Philly legend Bobby Eli where they co wrote, along with singer songwriter Chiquita Green, four new songs in his ‘Grooveyard’ studio. The two releases from that session were ‘There I go falling in love again’ by Chiquita and ‘Soul Recession’ by legendary Salsoul recording harmony group ‘Double Exposure’ famous for such releases as ’My love is free’, ‘Ten percent’ and ‘Every man’. In addition, Carl also has a co write with UK soul singer Diane Shaw and producer Andy Birkinshaw called ‘Good Lovin Man’ which is on her album ‘Love, Life and Strings’. Carl and The Delgonives are also proud to have co produced and sang on Robert and Mike Paladino's 'Soul Girl' parts 1 & 2 in 2015. This song is a derivative of 'The Four Winds' original 'Playgirl' released in 1963. Carl and Robert created this masterpiece remotely via Internet collaboration.

'Coming home' by The Delgonives

PRESS RELEASE
‘Coming Home’
Written by: Carl Dixon & Rikki James
 © 2014 (P) 2017

Performed by

THE DELGONIVES

The official release date is the 17th July 2017 and can be purchased from  Amazon, iTunes and all leading streaming services.

A brand new song and production performed by The Delgonives sounding similar to recordings released during the1960s US west coast surfin' and folk era. The song was co written by Carl Dixon and Rikki James at the BASCA song writing retreat 2014 in Wales at the Monnow Valley Studios where the likes of Oasis, Black Sabbath, Simple Minds and Robert Plant have recorded in the past. The official release date is the 17th July 2017. Normally The Delgonives perform more soulful songs with a Carolina Beach, Blue Eyed Soul and Detroit groove, but this time something a little different. Unlike other Bandtraxs releases this one does not have multiple mixes.

In the past Hull born Carl Dixon has co wrote and produced with celebrated Funk Brother guitarist, song writer and performer Dennis Coffey songs featuring Spyder Turner and Cherokee Pree in the ‘Motor City’ along with some other notable ‘Funk Brothers’ and session musicians back in 2008. 'Tell me (crying over you)' and 'Glory Fleeting' featuring Spyder Turner on lead vocals, 'Suddenly there's you' featuring Pree on lead and 'Detroit (city by the river)' by Bandtraxs were all released successfully from that session and still available to purchase or stream.

Carl and The Delgonives are also proud to have co produced and sang on Robert and Mike Paladino's 'Soul Girl' parts 1 & 2 last year. This song is a derivative of 'The Four Winds' original 'Playgirl' released in 1963. Carl and Robert created this masterpiece remotely via Internet collaboration.

Stay tuned for other releases from The Delgonives like 'One piece of cake' and 'Tell me (crying over you'.

'Soul Girl' parts 1 & 2 by The Delgonives

PRESS RELEASE

'SOUL GIRL' Parts 1 & 2
Written by: Robert Paladino/Mike Paladino
Published by: Pala One Publishing (ASCAP) - © 2014

Performed by
THE DELGONIVES
Bandtraxs Records – Release date 1st February 2015

‘Soul girl’ part 1 & 2 is destined to follow in the well-loved and respected Southern USA ‘Beach Music’ genre. Part 1 is the shorter version of this happy fun loving and catchy melody with a straight - four ‘Beach Music’ dance beat. Part 2 is “dedicated to all the soul girls out there” and simulates an in studio production with a cappella vocalising interspersed throughout. This 2015 performance by ‘The Delgonives’ marks number five in their recent releases and reminiscent of those 60’s classics from The Beach Boys, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, The Catalinas and The Embers.

‘Soul girl’ is co written by the Paladino brothers, Robert and Mike. Mike was drummer with ‘The Epitome of Sound’ and some times personal drummer with Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Robert Paladino is the famed writer/producer of Northern Soul #4 rated anthem ‘You don’t love me’ by ‘The Epitome of Sound’ on Sandbag records. ‘YDLM’ is also included on the recently released hit compilation album ‘Northern Soul The Film’ soundtrack and the soon to be released ‘Odyssey Time Capsule’ which is the definitive celebration of the phenomena called ‘Northern Soul’. Robert and his 60’s vocal group ‘The Brooks Four’ are inductees into the prestigious ‘Jersey girls sing – Hall of Fame’ with his penned doo-wop collectors classic recording ‘I’ll be faithful’ on Sinclair records. ‘The Brooks Four’ also recorded as ‘The Four Winds’ and ‘The Teamates’ and were produced by Tommy Devito and Nick Massi of the world famous Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons on the recording ‘A Chance to Live’ and sang background vocals on the Bernadette Carroll release ‘Nicky’.

Carl Dixon co wrote and produced Spyder Turner and Cherokee Pree in the ‘Motor City’ with legend Dennis Coffey and some of the great ‘Funk Brothers’ back in 2008. Last year Spyder performed ‘Tell me (crying over you)’ one of those recordings, live on stage for the very first time in the UK at the famous Prestatyn Soul Weekender. ‘Glory Fleeting’ by Spyder, ‘Suddenly there’s you’ by Pree and ‘Detroit (city by the river) by Bandtraxs were the other recordings from that exceptional session. Later that same year Carl teamed up with Philly legend Bobby Eli where they co wrote, along with singer songwriter Chiquita Green, four new songs in his ‘Grooveyard’ studio. The two released songs from that session are ‘There I go falling in love again’ sung by Chiquita and ‘Soul Recession’ by legendary Salsoul recording harmony group ‘Double Exposure’ famous for such releases as ’My love is free’, ‘Ten percent’ and ‘Every man’. ‘Soul Recession’ has recently been remixed and included on the ‘Philly ReGrooved 3 Tom Moulton Remixes’ double CD. Carl has also recently collaborated with UK soul singer Diane Shaw on a song called ‘Good lovin man’ which is currently receiving airplay in the UK and US and in addition been pressed on to 7” vinyl along with her excellent rendition of the classic ‘Leave a little love’ originally performed by Lulu. Carl has also written most of The Delgonives songs such as ‘Libby, let’s leave it at that’, ‘Never should have kissed you’, ‘Santa, let’s leave it at that’ and written ‘Guess he’s just an old friend’ which is performed by ‘Leah Cammell featuring The Delgonives’.

This Delgonives recording of ‘Soul girl’ is a throwback to those times when harmony vocal   groups would compete hoping to hit the big time by my making the charts and getting national radio airplay and TV appearances. We hope you enjoy it!

The official release date is the 1st February 2015 and the track can be purchased from
CD Baby, Amazon, iTunes and all leading download and streaming services.

'Guess he's just an old friend' featuring The Delgonives

PRESS RELEASE
‘Guess He's Just An Old Friend'

Featuring The Delgonives
Bandtraxs Records – Released: 19/9/2014

Leah Cammell performs this original song written in 2002 and commercially available for the very first time with updated instrumentation and backing vocals featuring 'The Delgonives'. Originally this song was entered into the Eurovision Song Contest over ten years ago, but has had a refurbishment in recent months with a view to making it available to retro beach music fans and those with a discerning ear for good music just like it used to be. The song is extremely danceable and fits in nicely with a 1960/70's playlist. There is a Motown undercurrent throughout the song similarly to something the studio may have come up with around 1966.

'Festival of Love' by Bandtraxs

PRESS RELEASE
‘Festival of Love'
Written by Carl Dixon (PRS/MCPS)
By
BANDTRAXS
Bandtraxs Records – Released 22/9/2014

If you enjoy retro sounding mid 1970’s soul, this Bandtraxs release features a new instrumental that captures the spirit of disco music prevalent around that time. This production has been carefully crafted with respect to a period that gave us the likes of The Love Unlimited Orchestra, Barry White, Gene Page, The Sound of Philadelphia, The Salsoul Orchestra and MFSB. The instrumentation remains faithful to a more traditional style of arrangement from the days when sequencing and midi did not exist. Although using modern techniques to record these tracks, the essence of the music here still sounds organic and collaborative.

The main influences for this music are the 1970’s and particularly the Philly Sound. Nobody will ever recreate that music successfully without the musicians who made it and arrangers that so eloquently added their parts to the songs in the first place. The likes of Bobby Eli, Earl Young, Vince Montana, Ronnie Baker, Norman Harris, Thom Bell, Richard Rome and Bobby Martin are a few names that come to mind, but there are so many other individuals responsible for that sound too numerous to mention. The writers, producers, musicians, arrangers and artists are greatly appreciated and celebrated here with my efforts to write and produce this material. And ultimately of course, it would be appropriate to write some lyrics and cut vocals on this song at some stage in the future.

PRESS RELEASE
‘Never Should Have Kissed You’
written by Carl Dixon (PRS/MCPS)

THE DELGONIVES
Bandtraxs Records – Released 22/9/2014

The Delgonives perform a new original song with a familiar beach and 60's feel. The song was written by Carl Dixon who has now completed three numbers for The Delgonives. The melody swings and this release takes the clock back to around 1965 to give it a beach and sprinkling of Motown flavour. This is the fourth 'Delgonives' release in the last year and this time a a new composition seemed very appropriate to exploit the groups passion for singing old and new songs. Stay tuned for the update....
