'Guess he's just an old friend' featuring The Delgonives

PRESS RELEASE
‘Guess he's just an old friend'

Featuring The Delgonives
Bandtraxs Records – Released: 19/9/2014

Leah Cammell performs this original song written in 2002 and commercially available for the very first time with updated instrumentation and backing vocals featuring 'The Delgonives'. Originally this song was entered into the Eurovision Song Contest over ten years ago, but has had a refurbishment in recent months with a view to making it available to retro beach music fans and those with a discerning ear for good music just like it used to be. The song is extremely danceable and fits in nicely with a 1960/70's playlist. There is a Motown undercurrent throughout the song similarly to something the studio may have come up with around 1966.

BANDTRAXS
Bandtraxs Records – Released 22/9/2014

If you enjoy retro sounding mid 1970’s soul, this Bandtraxs release features a new instrumental that captures the spirit of disco music prevalent around that time. This production has been carefully crafted with respect to a period that gave us the likes of The Love Unlimited Orchestra, Barry White, Gene Page, The Sound of Philadelphia, The Salsoul Orchestra and MFSB. The instrumentation remains faithful to a more traditional style of arrangement from the days when sequencing and midi did not exist. Although using modern techniques to record these tracks, the essence of the music here still sounds organic and collaborative.

The main influences for this music are the 1970’s and particularly the Philly Sound. Nobody will ever recreate that music successfully without the musicians who made it and arrangers that so eloquently added their parts to the songs in the first place. The likes of Bobby Eli, Earl Young, Vince Montana, Ronnie Baker, Norman Harris, Thom Bell, Richard Rome and Bobby Martin are a few names that come to mind, but there are so many other individuals responsible for that sound too numerous to mention. The writers, producers, musicians, arrangers and artists are greatly appreciated and celebrated here with my efforts to write and produce this material. And ultimately of course, it would be appropriate to write some lyrics and cut vocals on this song at some stage in the future.

'Never should have kissed you' by The Delgonives

PRESS RELEASE
‘Never Should Have Kissed You’
written by Carl Dixon (PRS/MCPS)

THE DELGONIVES
Bandtraxs Records – Released 22/9/2014

The Delgonives perform a new original song with a familiar beach and 60's feel. The song was written by Carl Dixon who has now completed three numbers for The Delgonives. The melody swings and this release takes the clock back to around 1965 to give it a beach and sprinkling of Motown flavour. This is the fourth 'Delgonives' release in the last year and this time a a new composition seemed very appropriate to exploit the groups passion for singing old and new songs. Stay tuned for the update....
